Hundon Cinema
Having formed a ‘following’ over the past few years of regularly showing films we made a decision to raise sufficient funds to purchase and install our own cinema equipment.
Already having been successful in raising enough to cover the cost of an automatic screen and having that installed on the stage, we set about making applications to various sources in and around the village. During the period of raising funds we were advised that the equipment held at Newmarket Council Offices, which we were able to use once a month, would no longer be available and was being withdrawn, we were fortunate enough to raise the funds that have allowed the Cinema Group to purchase and instal all the equipment needed for our film nights. These have continued to be successful with requests for old as well as newly released films and, with the added bonus of being able to offer a bar, we have introduced ‘intervals’ during the film shows.
If you are interested in joining us for a film show the date, time and film being featured is published in the Hundon Herald, the Cinema Group notice board at the entrance to the hall and the Facebook page. We usually meet second or third Friday of the month but also list here dates for the coming months.
